RUMFORD — The top four teams in Mountain Valley Rec Basketball League (MVRBL) maintained their strong hold in the twelfth week of 14 regular season games. Hotel Rumford is now 10-2.

Smartcare PT Inc, A & G Custom Carpentry and Mt Blue are in a deadlock for second through fourth place at 9-3,with Smartcare currently holding the tie breaker advantage. Clean Cut Painting is in fifth place at 5-7, Jay 4-8, Dixfield 2-10 and Stix n Stones 0-12.

In the first game, Hotel Rumford pulled away from Clean Cut Painting part way through the second half and cruised to a 72-56 victory. The first place guys got 23 points from Tom Danylik, Owen Jones 19 (5 threes) and Bryan Canwell 10. Clean Cut’s top men were Javen Smith 25 points and Mike Pare 16.

Then, Smartcare dismantled Jay 94-63. High scorers for Smartcare were Cody St Germain and Trenton Hutchinson (5 threes) with 25 points. Dakota Tompkins 12, Ben Holmes 11 and Nick St Germain helped the cause. Jay was led by Steve Dougher 16 points, Jake Turner 14. Lucas Bellanceau 11 and Zane Armandi 10.

In a shorted game due to score, Mt Blue pounded Dixfield,76-35. Mt Blue had 5 guys in double figures, Eric Berry (3 threes) and Jake Farnham (4 threes) had 17 points each. Cam Sennick 14, Justin Evans 12 and Levi Meader 10 were in supported. Dixfield’s Arick Richard had 16 points.

In another shortened game, A & G Custom Carpentry walloped Stix n Stones, 92-32. Mateo Lapointe was high flying with 22 points and lots of dunks. Malik Farley 18 points, Hunter Meeks and Kalen Chase 16 each were the leaders for A & G. Cody Dolloff 14 (4 threes) was high point man for Stix n Stones.
