Tracy Lea (Canwell) Laubauskas

MEXICO – Tracy Lea (Canwell) Laubauskas, 58, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, at Maine Medical Center in Portland. She resided at 2 Penley St. in Mexico. Tracy was born in Rumford on Jan. 10, 1966. She was the daughter of Maurice and Susan (Briggs) Canwell.

Tracy was a graduate of Mexico High School, Class of “84”. She worked as a Cosmetologist in the area and thoroughly enjoyed all her clients.

Tracy was a loving wife, mother, and Granny. She enjoyed taking care of her family, having family cookouts and crafting. Tracy was the go to to make everyone’s birthday cakes. She took much pride in her flower beds and making her yard beautiful.

Tracy was married in Peru, Maine on August 10, 1989 to Robert Laubauskas who survives in Mexico. Other survivors include her mother Susan Canwell of Roxbury; sons Matthew and his wife Kelsey of Bath, Ryan of South Paris, daughters, Shannon Laubauskas and companion Cowen of Rumford, Emily (Laubauskas) Turner and husband Clifford and granddaughter Carsyn June (her pride and joy) of Dixfield, son Ethan Laubauskas and companion Mariah of Mexico; a sister Kelly Staires and companion Frank Hamel of Roxbury, brother-in-law Carey Staires; niece Michele Therriault-Staires, nephews Nathan Staires and companion Jenni, Justin Staires; great nephews Finn Therriault and Oliver Staires all of Roxbury. Tracy also had some really close friends she considered family. She was predeceased by her father Maurice Canwell.

There will be a service for family from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for friends and others on Saturday March 2, 2024, at Meader and Sons Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St, Rumford, ME. Following the service there will be a Celebration of Life at the American Legion Hall in Rumford at 1:30 pm.
