Chris Cameron, vice president of Communications and Fan Experience for the Portland Sea Dogs, was guest speaker at a recent meeting of the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club.

Cameron, who joined the organization as a part-time seasonal employee in 1996, was named Public Relations Director of the Year in 2005 for all minor league sports by MinorLeagueNews.com, according to a news release from Rotary President Roger Philippon.

He announced that the Sea Dogs game on July 31 will be “Maine Strong” night in honor of the victims of the Oct. 25 tragedy in Lewiston as well as first responders and community leaders. The team will wear special jerseys that will later be auctioned off to benefit the Lewiston-Auburn Rescue Fund.
