BETHEL — Anne Herrick, adult nurse practitioner with MaineHealth, plans to deliver an introductory presentation on Parkinson disease — with a focus on early signs, diagnosis, treatments, and support resources.

The talk is set for 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the Bethel Congregational Church, 32 Church St., with a snow date planned for March 14. This event is free and open to the public; all ages are welcomed.

Herrick has worked at Maine Medical Partners Neurology in Scarborough for 10 years. She specializes in the care of patients with Parkinson disease and other movement disorders.

Her presentation covers a broad view of Parkinson’s including early signs and symptoms (motor and non-motor), treatments, the role of exercise and healthy eating, and support services available in Maine for Parkinson’s patients and their families, according to a news release from Western Mountains Senior College.

This program, “Intro to Parkinson Disease – Signs, Symptoms, Treatments and Support,” is sponsored as a community service by To Your Health of the Western Mountains Senior College, in collaboration with the Bethel Family Health Center and MSAD 44/Adult and Continuing Education.
