Joseph Antoine Galli

BRIDGTON – Joseph Antoine Galli of Neuchatel, Switzerland, passed away peacefully at his home in Bridgton, Maine, with special caregivers Darlene Gordon and Kim Crawford at his side on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024.

Mr. Galli was educated in the Switzerland school system. After his military service in the Swiss Army, he came to the United States of America in 1947. He taught himself English by reading the cartoons and funnies in the Sunday newspaper. Mr. Galli worked in the Hotel Statler in Elmsford, New York, as Chief Bakery Chef. There he met Ann Penner and on June 2, 1955, they married. He later worked as Manager of Food Services at IBM. On May 30, 1987, Joe and Ann moved to Bridgton.

Mr. Galli was preceded in death by his wife, Ann after 63 years of marriage, his parents, Pietro and Germaine Galli and a sister Pepei.

He is survived by close friends, Mary Gockel, Gloria Moore, Cynthia L. Nock, Faye and Michael Daley, Robert and Nancy O’Brien, Tracey and Mark Lopez and family and Stanley Nock Sr.

At Mr. Galli’s request, there will be no services.
