A family dance with music provided by the All-Comers Band begins at 6:30 p.m. Contradances (along with squares and circles) will run from 8-10:30 p.m. Newcomers to this type of dancing are always welcome, and can expect some assistance in moving to the infectious music from the caller (who will teach the dance before the music starts, and continue calling out the figures).

Newell, who comes from a midcoast Maine fiddling family, has been inspiring different generations with her joyous and compelling sound, according to a news release from Greg Boardman, a fiddler and teacher in the community. She has mastered a wealth of tunes from the Maine, Maritimes and Quebec traditions and way beyond, and shares them with attendees at Maine Fiddle Camp, where she has been on the teaching staff, Boardman noted.

Dayan provides rhythmic and harmonic support on guitar.

Suggested admission is $10 and free for children 17 and younger. Soft-soled shoes are recommended for dancing.

For more information, call Boardman at 207-344-3106.
