Lucienne M. Roux

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – Lucienne M. Roux, 98, died peacefully Feb. 19, 2024, at Suncoast Hospice Care Center in Pinellas Park, Fla.

Born in Lewiston, she was a lifelong resident until June of 2016. She moved to the Fountains Independent Living Facility in South Pasadena, Fla., to be near her sons.

In 1944, while working at Bath Iron Works as a riveter, she met the love of her life. She married Dominic Roux on Sept. 1, 1945 at St. Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston. She often joked that he loved to cook and bake. She was so impressed; she knew he was to be her soulmate for life. They were married for 49 years before his death.

She was a lifelong parishioner of Holy Cross Church. She was active in the parish in the seniors’ group, as well as church choir. She was a greeter at the 4 p.m. mass for many years. During her life, she enjoyed singing, playing the harmonica, yodeling, entertaining family at her home, spending weekends in Old Orchard Beach and lovingly maintaining her home till she left at the age of 91.

She was employed as a stitcher her entire life at the Pepperell Manufacturing Company, Crest Shoes, and Etonic Shoes.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Roux and his wife Ellen of St. Pete Beach, Fla., her son, Michel Roux and his wife, Ella, of So. Pasadena, Fla.; her four grandchildren, Jennifer Roux and mate, John Emanuele of Wappingers, N.Y., Allyson Roux of Middleton, Mass., Erica Federico and husband, Tobie, of Litchfield, Ronald and his wife, Sarah, of Westfield, Mass., her two step-grandchildren, Matthew Giordano and his wife, Sarah, of Ridgefield, Conn., and John Giordano of White Plains, N.Y.; eight great-grandchildren, Kyler, Brooklyn, Jacey, Nolan, Avery, Chase, Gavin, Maren; and three step-great-grandchildren, Rosalie, Emma, and Grace; her nieces Louise St. Pierre and Diane Beaulieu of Lewiston, Helen Gelly of Winston-Salem, N.C., her nephews Peter Beaulieu and his wife Laurie of Rochester, N.H., Don Roux of Lewison, Roland and Laurie Roux of Patchogue, N.Y.; and cousin, Muriel Mills of Green.

She was predeceased by her husband; and two sisters, Lucille Biron and Alice Langdo.

She will be sorely missed by all her family and her dear friends in Lewiston, including Carmen Laliberte, Lisa and Tom Kerns, Faye and Bob Brickle, Belinda Lemay.

Visiting hours will be held at the Albert & Burpee Funeral Home, 253 Pine St., Lewiston, on Friday, April 12, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, 1080 Lisbon St., Lewiston, at 11 a.m. Committal prayers will follow in the large chapel of the mausoleum at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Lewiston.
