BETHEL — Bethel area town meeting and elections have been set.

MSAD 44:

School board positions are sought for two seats in Bethel; one for  Greenwood; one for Newry and one from Woodstock.

All school board candidate nomination papers must be delivered to the Registrar of Voters in each of the MSAD 44 towns where signatures have been collected by 4 p.m. March 19

The deadline for delivering certified candidate nomination papers to MSAD 44 is 4 p.m. March 28 Elections will be held June 11 in the towns with open seats. Drop-off nomination papers at MSAD 44’s central headquarters, One Parkway, suite 204, Bethel.

Woodstock

Town meeting is set for March 25, 6:30 at Woodstock Fire Station, S. Main Street, Bryant Pond.

Nomination papers for one three -year library trustee position and one three-year select board position were due Feb. 9.

However nominations for these positions can also be made from the floor at town meeting.

Incumbent selectman Jeff Campbell is running for select board and Incumbent Alice Deegan is running for the Library Trustee position.

One school board position is open. See above for nomination information.

Gilead

Town meeting is March 30 at 7 p.m. at Gilead Town Office,

Elections will be held at the start of the March 30 town meeting for: Select Board Member, Road Commissioner, Town Clerk, Tax Collector, Treasurer, Registrar, and Administrative Assistant. All are three-year positions.

Newry

Town meeting is on Mon. May 13 at 6p.m. at Bear River Grange, 71 Bear River Rd., Newry

Town elections are for select board and school board will be held on June 11, the same day as the Maine State primaries. Both are three-year terms.

Select board nomination papers must be returned by April 16. See above for information about school board paperwork.

Greenwood

Town meeting will be May 18, at 9 a.m. at the Legion Hall, 595 Gore Rd, Greenwood

An election for a select board member will be held at town meeting on May 18. Incumbent Amy Chapman plans to run again.

Bethel

Town elections will be held June 11, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, Vernon Street, Bethel.

Open positions are for select board, two assessing positions and two positions for school board. All are three-year terms. Nomination papers are at Town Office and are due back by April 12.

Town meeting is scheduled for Wed. June 12. The location and time are to be determined.

Andover

Town meeting is on June 15, 8 a.m. at Andover Town Hall

Andover town elections are June 19. Open positions are: select board (1 seat), fire chief, road commissioner, tax collector, town clerk and school board. All are three-year terms.

Hanover

The Town of Hanover holds town meeting in the fall. A date has not been scheduled. While not listed on the MSAD 44 website, Town Clerk Kelly Harrington confirms they are looking to fill a seat on the MSAD 44 school board, too.
