LIVERMORE FALLS — At the Sunday, March 10, First Baptist Church of Livermore Falls service, Pastor Rev. Russ Thayer opened the Worship Service and Kay Watson read the Announcements of upcoming meetings and events. She led us in two Praise Songs: “Cleanse Me, O Lord” , and “Lead Me, Lord”. Pastor Thayer read the Call to Worship from Psalm 139, Verses 23 & 24.

He led us into Prayer Time after which we recited The Lord’s Prayer. We sang the familiar Hymn, “Sweet Hour of Prayer”, followed by the Junior Sermon, “Secret Box”. During “Happy Time”. Tithes and Offerings, Maggie and Margaret played “Come and See”. The Worship Team sang “You Are My Hiding Place.”. Keyboards: Maggie Houlihan and Margaret Emery

Pastor Thayer’s Sermon, titled “Jesus Prays- For All Believers”, was introduced as the Pastor read Scripture from the Book of John, Chapter 17, Verses 20 – 26. According to Scripture, Jesus prayed to God that those people who believed in Him and God would be united in Christianity.

Pastor Thayer told us that Christians should never be divided; no matter what church we attend, no matter our names, the clothing we wear, no matter where we live, Christians need to be united in their love for Christ. Because we love Christ, we should also love one another. If we can’t unite as Christians in the name and love of Christ, how can we prove to the world that we believe in the Word of God, and we love one another because He has loved us first?

Baptism is a way to prove that we have accepted Jesus as our Savior, and we believe He is Lord. He sacrificed himself on the Cross to bear our sins. That was His “Cross to bear”, and He glorified God when He gave His life for us.

Whatever is your cross to bear, let it be used to bring glory to God, in the way you live your Christian life and the way you handle adversity and joy as you let your life be an example of God’s love . The Service closed as we sang, “They’ll Know We Are Christians By Our Love”. After the Benediction, we sang, “Grace, Love and Fellowship”.
