Leslie A. Roberts

SOUTH PARIS – Leslie A. Roberts, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2024, following a brief illness. Leslie was born in Woodstock on Oct. 29, 1933, to Wendall and Alice (Felt) Roberts.

He attended schools in Greenwood and worked in local factories prior to serving in the U. S. Navy from March 1956 to October 1957. He was transferred to the Reserve and discharged from the service in March of 1962.

On April 2, 1960, he married Georgena Buck, and they resided in their home on the Harrison Road in Norway where they raised their six children. Leslie worked 35 years at C. B. Cummings in Norway until his retirement in October 1995. Leslie loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and working in his garden. He also enjoyed watching his favorite sports team, the Boston Red Sox.

Leslie is survived by son, Bruce Roberts of Oxford, daughters Brenda Shelton and husband David of Oxford, Marilyn Foster and husband Robert of Newcastle, Linda Hoyt of South Paris and Carolee Masselli and husband John of Chiefland, Fla..; 13 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren; as well as brother Duane Roberts of Greenwood and sisters Lenona Cole of West Paris and Marilyn Howe of Bryant Pond.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife of 51 years, Georgena Roberts; daughter Ruth Smith; brothers Stanley, Albert, James and Carl Roberts, and sisters Florence and Elsie Seames.

Graveside services with military honors will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Wayside Cemetery in West Paris.
