LIVERMORE FALLS — A maple syrup and pancake breakfast will be held 9 a.m. to noon Saturday to support the Food Cupboard of Jay/Livermore/Livermore Falls.
The breakfast will be held at 43 Stantondell Road in Livermore Falls, the home of Steven Coates. The menu will include pancakes, baked beans, coffee and juice. Donations to support the food cupboard will be accepted with all proceeds going to the cupboard, he said Wednesday, March 13. Maple syrup will also be available by donation, he noted.
“I have an evaporator on site,” Coates said. “If I have sap there will be a demonstration.”
He thought with it being the weekend of Maine Maple Sunday it would be a good time to help the food cupboard.
“The chairman of the FCJLLF, Steven Coates has come up with this idea, as he makes a lot of maple syrup from his trees,” Martina Eastman wrote in an email to the Livermore Falls Advertiser on Thursday, March 14.
“Client usage at the cupboard has increased from 2023, almost doubled from past years,” Coates stated. “Groceries are more expensive, that’s having an effect.”
For more information call Coates, 207-320-0964.
