“Throughout her years at Spruce Mountain High School, Faith Maurais has distinguished herself in the classroom, leader in co-curricular activities, as a volunteer, and a very active community community member,” Plourde said in making the award, according to a news release from the school. “She is an outstanding young woman that loves her community, and has made a positive impact through volunteerism.”

Maurais has received many accolades from her time at SMHS, and is the valedictorian of the graduating class of 2024.

Maurais, Plourde, and other award winners and their principals plan to attend an honors luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 6.

The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.
