PORTER — A fire Friday morning destroyed a building on Porterfield Road across from Joe Cousins Road and Lewis Lane.
The fire was first reported around 11 a.m. When firefighters first arrived, smoke was visible from the first two floors.
There were reports of people in the building that needed to be rescued.
The flames were finally knocked down at approximately 12:15 p.m.
