PARIS — The Paris Cape Historical Society begins a new season in April with the return of regular public hours and the first monthly public meeting on April 18. The PCHS museum at 77 High Street in South Paris will be open every Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. into the fall. Many artifacts from town history will be on display, as well as thousands of old photos by photographers including Edward Greene and Jack Quinn. Documents and records for those interested in doing research are also available.

The first monthly meeting of the season will take place April 18 at 7 p.m. at the museum. It will feature a tour of the museum led by Curator Ben Conant, who will offer his unique insights into Paris history while describing and explaining the displays. The presentation is free and open to the public. Monthly meetings will take place on the third Thursday of the month through the fall.

The society needs volunteers to help in organizing historical records and documents, as well as other tasks. Anyone willing to help out, or interested in obtaining historical information, can contact PCHS by emailing pariscapehistoricalsociety@gmail.com or messaging through the PCHS Facebook page.

The PCHS Facebook page each week posts an old photo from the society’s collection. While basic information is provided for each one, page visitors are often able to share additional facts and observations, as well as reminiscences. Visit to see if you find familiar scenes!
