HOLLIS — A Norway man made an emergency landing Wednesday afternoon with his Cessna after discovering that the plane was low on fuel.

Investigators said 57-year-old pilot Joseph Bowen set his plane down in the area of Killick Pond Road in Hollis, near the Poland Spring building, at about 2 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

York County sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene to find the blue and white Cessna 180 parked in front of the Poland Spring facility.

According to a press release issued later in the day, the plane will be stored on the Poland Spring property until the pilot can have it broken down and trailered off the property, at the direction of the Federal Aviation Administration.  The plane will be disassembled and removed from the Poland Springs property, according to the release.

There was no word on where Bowen was heading, or where he had flown from, when he set the plane down.
