BUCKFIELD — On Monday, April 8, at 9:33 p.m., according to Oxford County Sheriff Chief Deputy James Urquhart, Oxford County Deputies, along with Maine State Police and Oxford Police responded to an address on Sodom Road in Buckfield for a report that an adult male had been stabbed by another male subject following a fight.
According to Urquhart, deputies arrived on scene and the suspect was gone. Deputies rendered first aid to the male victim and he was transported by rescue to CMMC in Lewiston for non-life-threatening injuries. The victim has been identified as Michael Johnson-Wynter, 37, of Buckfield.
Law Enforcement saturated the area, said Urquhart, and searched for the suspect. About 30 minutes later Abdul-Rashid Bilal, 27, was located and arrested about half a mile from the crime scene.
Bilal was taken to Oxford County Jail and charged with Elevated Aggravated Assault, a Class A felony. Bail was set at $50,000 cash.
The case remains under investigation.
