Robert C. Morin

SOUTH PARIS – Robert C. Morin, 89, formerly of Lewiston, died Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris.

Born in Lewiston on June 5, 1934, he was the son of Henry and Marie Rose (Lacroix) Morin. He was educated in local Catholic schools, and after graduation served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army.

He dreamt of becoming a pilot, but in order to assist his mother, chose to work locally. Robert worked at Weymouth Shoe, Crest Shoe, and as a custodian at McMahon School for over 20 years. He was happiest piloting his boat and fishing with his family at Gunpoint Cove by Boothbay Harbor.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Therese Veilleux, Doralice Morin, and Dorothy Morin, and a brother, Roger Morin.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Albert and Burpee Funeral Home, 253 Pine St., Lewiston on Tuesday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the Lower Church of Sts. Peter and Paul Basilica. Committal prayers with military honors will follow in the small chapel of the Mausoleum at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Memories may be shared at http://www.albert-burpee.com.
