It was a standing room only at the Hasty Community Center at Pettingill Park on Saturday, April 3 when more than 350 attended the first annual Purebred Dog Exhibition, sponsored by the Auburn Parks and Recreation Department. Twenty-four breeds were on hand for the event. Breeds from an Irish wolfhound to a Miniature pinscher were introduced to the audience. A brief history was given and the owner/handler was able to express his/her personal comments.

Following the program attendees had an opportunity to visit with  owners and their dogs, ask questions and pick up literature provided by the American Kennel Club.

Plans are already being made for the 2000 exhibition.
