PARIS — If you are interested in a trades career and are between the ages of 16 and 20, you are eligible for the Construction Immersion Program. Students will receive a weekly stipend, tools, outerwear, the NCCER Core Curriculum (National Center for Construction Education and Research) badge, and the OSHA 10 certification. The program is open to ages 16-20 including Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School graduates and Oxford Hills residents. This is an opportunity to explore 10 pathways toward a solid construction trades career. In 2023, site visits included a highway construction project with Sargent Corporation, Welding with R.J. Grondin on their mobile welding truck, and working on a concrete and masonry project with Knowles Industry. This Maine Construction Academy program is one of 11 offered state-wide this summer and interviews are guaranteed upon completion. Students will have the opportunity to continue into a registered apprenticeship program as well.

Classes are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. from July 22 – August 16.
