To the Editor:

Please join the Bethel, Woodstock, and Greenwood Conservation Commissions for our annual Green Up Day on Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to Noon. Come with friends, family, or co-workers, and let’s get our local roadsides cleaned up for the spring and summer. Many hands are needed to get this work done.

Bethel volunteers will meet at the Bethel Town Common at 9 a.m., Woodstock at the Bryant Pond Ball Field, and Greenwood at the Greenwood Town Office. If you prefer to do a clean-up on roads near your house, that is great too!

Just let us know what you plan to do so we don’t duplicate efforts (email sarahsoutham4@gmail.com). Please wear brightly colored clothing/safety vest and gloves. We will provide the trash bags and a trailer to drop your trash at the end of the clean-up.

Lunch for all volunteers will be provided starting at 11:30 a.m. at the Bethel Town Common. If you can contribute desserts for the lunch, that would be much appreciated. Thank you!
