AREA — Robert Wessels is the first declared candidate for Maine Governor, and the Wessels for Governor campaign team is hitting the road for Maine. After hearing about Congressman Bill Cohen’s walk across Maine for his campaign in the 70s, we decided this would be a fun way to meet Mainers across the state.  Robert will be modernizing it a little; he will be riding an electric scooter, as well as walking. Robert will start in Fort Kent on May 3 and work his way down the coast, finishing the trip in Kittery if all goes as planned. Besides Fort Kent and Kittery, the plan is to visit Caribou, Mars Hill, Houlton, Danforth, Lincoln, Old Town, Bangor, Searsport, Camden, Waldoboro, Bath, Portland, Yarmouth, Saco, Wells, and every town in between. Please visit the campaign site, VoteRobertWessels.com, the campaign Facebook page (Wessels for Governor), or “X” (Wessels for Governor) for more details. Follow the campaign on social media (Facebook/X) to get progress updates, pictures/videos, and any changes to the plans as the trip progresses. Everybody is encouraged to stop and talk with Robert, or even join him for part of the walk.  He wants to hear your story and listen to your concerns or thoughts on the direction the state should go.

His children are a big part of the reason Robert is running for Governor, to help ensure they and their future children can enjoy a free and prosperous Maine. Robert has his Master’s degree in Business Administration and has spent the last 20 years honing his leadership skills in business. He believes his experience in the business world and his status as a political outsider will resonate with Mainers.
