WILTON — A 15-year-old local boy has been issued a summons Sunday on a charge of misdemeanor assault related to an April 15 incident at Kineowatha Park on High Street, Police Chief Ethan Kyes said Thursday.

The teen was arrested last week on a felony charge of aggravated assault related to the assault of two people at the park, Kyes said. The boy is accused of grabbing one person around the neck and slamming him to the ground, he said. The second person was punched.

The victims did not know the suspects, who fled on foot before police arrived, the chief said. Police caught up with them at a residence at the Wilton Mobile Home Park on Main Street, he said.

A 16-year-old boy was also issued a summons at his residence Sunday on a misdemeanor charge of assault in the same incident, Keyes said.

A 14-year-old boy was also there but was not involved in the assault, he said.

The teens are banned from all town parks, the chief said.

The case will go through the Juvenile Court System.
