Forget the groundhog, ice out is a way more trustworthy sign that spring is here!

This year Rangeley Lake ice out was officially declared on April 23 at 5:31pm.

Thank you to all of those who submitted their entries for the annual Rangeley Highlander 2022 ICE OUT Contest via email, snail mail, dropping off in person at the office, or via Facebook messenger. As per usual we get a lot of entries from out of state (MA, PA, NY, CT), but this year all three winners have Rangeley addresses!

Congratulations to the following winners:

1st place winner of $100 gift certificate to area business of their choice- Nancy Hart with a guess of 4/23/24 at 6:24am.

2nd place winner of 1 year Rangeley Highlander subscription- Jan Ptak with a guess of 4/24/24 at 5:00am.

3rd place winner of 1 year Highlander subscription- Sarah Egerhei with a guess of 4/24/24 at 3:00pm.
