Seven hundred eggs were produced by Mr. McLain’s birds during that month, according to records forwarded to O. M. Wilbur, Poultry Specialist, of the Extension Service, College of Agriculture.

A CMP Group subsidiary plans to begin limited work on a natural gas pipeline between Falmouth and Bath this year as it seeks to line up contracts with large energy users in the region. CMP Natural Gas expects to install a distribution line this summer along Bath Road in Brunswick and also may work on Route 1 in downtown Freeport this fall, spokesman Roy Lane said.

“We’re going to do it, but it’s going to be done in pieces,” Lane said.

CMP Natural Gas said it expects to negotiate contracts with major customers and could begin supplying them with gas next year.
