While operating a three ton tractor near Monmouth Fish Hatchery Tuesday afternoon moving a building, Frank Libby was seriously injured by the overturning of the heavy machine which pinned him underneath.

The tractor was pried off and first aid was rendered to the unconscious man by Dr. F. L. Chenery, Jr., and he was removed to his home nearby. Dr. E. F. Pierce of Lewiston was also summoned in consultation. Mr. Libby was found to have a broken shoulder, broken ribs and probable internal injuries.

The accident occurred on a new piece of gravel road near the bridge, on the fish hatchery road. Fortunately, owing to the soft surface and depressions in the gravel, Mr. Libby escaped instant death which would have resulted from a hard smooth road.
