Grace Martin, a singer of traditional and original songs in the folk style, will perform at the Oasis of Music beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, at Trinity Commons in Lewiston.

Martin is a guitar and mandolin playing singer-songwriter from Vermont. Rooted in traditional music, from playing fiddle tunes with her dad in the kitchen to touring with Young Tradition Vermont, she combines her love for traditional music with her lyrics about her life. She has played from Guatemala to Alaska at festivals, restaurants, and farmers’ markets. Currently, she attends Bates College, is part of the folk band Sapline, and is hoping to release music soon.

The Oasis of Music is a weekly music series of performances of roughly thirty minutes, running from September to May. Admission is free, with donations accepted. The musical genres vary greatly, in largely, but not exclusively, acoustic formats. Trinity Commons is located at 247 Bates St., Lewiston. For more information, call 207-344-3106.
