DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Anglican Church of the Transfiguration will hold its Annual Plant Sale at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at Maisie Keene Park at the intersection of state Routes 121 and 11 in the village.

Organizers welcome donations from area gardens. The only request is that they arrive potted and labeled. We also hope area gardeners with a planting spot to fill will check out what we are selling.

For more information, contact nancylpetersons@gmail.com or 207-689-7025. Thank you, Ms. Sun Spots, for all the help you have given us in the past. — Nancy, no town

ANSWER: Thank goodness, planting season has finally arrived here in Maine! I did some gardening this afternoon and it elevated my mood considerably! I hope your sale is a great success. I’m sure you’ll have lots of great bargains and many eager customers!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Edward Little High School Class of 1956 Reunion Committee is planning its 68th year reunion Aug. 29. We have reached out to as many classmates as we could, but some people may not have received the letter we mailed because of a wrong address.

The committee is planning to retire after this reunion so let’s have a great turnout! If you have any questions and would like to attend, call me at 312-5405 and leave a message. — Betty, no town

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In December 2023, the Town of Mexico lost the services of its post office which was in a flood area. Since then, we have not had a post office in town and have to go to either Dixfield or Rumford for services. This is not very convenient and I think it’s time we get our post office back. With the price of postage stamps and another increase coming soon, I feel now is the time to get one back in our town. Do you know who residents can contact to start the process? If we all call or contact someone, maybe it will happen. Thank you! I love Sun Spots every day! — No name, Mexico

ANSWER: The town is probably already doing something to rectify the situation. Have you contacted the office? The number is 364-7971. I know of another town where the post office burned to the ground and a temporary post office was put in place at the back of the grocery store until new one can be built. Talk with the town manager then go from there.
