DEAR SUN SPOTS: Danville Junction Grange, 15 Grange St., Auburn, will be sponsoring an indoor/outdoor yard and craft sale on Saturday, May 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (The rain date is Saturday, June 8.) There will be a raffle table, 50/50 drawing, lots of delicious baked goods and many treasures on the white elephant table.
Tables will be available for rent to crafters or those who would like to turn their unwanted treasures into cash. Table rental is $20 and can be reserved by calling Maynard Chapman at 312-5591. Please leave a message and he will get back to you.
We look forward to seeing all our friends and neighbors who have always been so supportive in all our endeavors. The proceeds of this sale will go toward a much-needed paint job or siding for the outside of our hall.
Thank you, Ms. Sun Spots, for helping us spread the word. You do so very much to keep the people in our communities connected with one another. Keep up the wonderful work that you do. — No Name, Auburn
ANSWER: If you’re a crafter or have special treasures stowed away for an opportunity such as this one, you’re in luck. Reserve your table and get ready!
Thank you to all the organizers who work so diligently to make these fundraisers happen smoothly and efficiently. I’m happy to spread the word!
DEAR SUN SPOTS: It’ so nice to be contacting you again as I know this is the best place to get the word out for nonprofits!
The River Valley Animal Advocates will be having a perennial plant sale at 20 Turner St. in Canton (across Rt. 108 from the Big Apple) on Saturday, May 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Donations of plants and plant pots are appreciated. Those items can be dropped off at the sale or you can call Jolene at 597-2168 for more information.
The RVAA has been a 501(c)(3) since 2010. We target low-cost spay/neuter needs for cats at our clinics with Dr. Don and Martha McLean here in Canton. The RVAA has helped over 2,600 cats from 40 local towns to be sterilized. As 1,136 of them were females, they could have produced 17,049 kittens every year of their lives. The cumulative total since 2010 is well over 100,000 potentially homeless kittens not born thanks to spaying.
We also could use cat food/litter to help with rescued cats waiting for new homes. —Becky, Canton
ANSWER: Wowsers! Those statistics are staggering. I love cats but that’s a lot of kitties! I applaud you for your work and hope this event is fruitful and fun.
Hopefully, every kitty in Sun Spots Land owns a human who is taking good care of them and has assured their furry children are in tip-top shape with a certificate of being spayed/neutered. That’s the goal.
