Cecil Wheeler Jr.

SOUTH PARIS – Cecil Wheeler Jr. passed away at the Maine Veterans Home on May 13, 2024. He was born in Portland, March 10, 1931, growing up in Portland and Cape Elizabeth. He was a graduate of CEHS and Bentley prior to his career in the Army.

He worked for Millet Fish and Dresser prior to meeting and marrying his forever love, Ellie. Together, they moved to Auburn where he worked at Hebron Academy. Later, he started his own successful business as a certified tax accountant and then happily retired. More recently, he was a resident at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris as he dealt with dementia until passing, receiving exceptional care. He was an active member of the Auburn Exchange Club for 50 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Cindy and husband Doug along with many relatives and friends. He leaves behind his family who he loved so much. Betsy, her two sons: Tim, Josh and his wife, Angela; their children Melanie, Michael, Ryan, Will and Joey. Amy and her husband Andrew along with their two daughters: Rebecca and her husband Dan; Hanna and her husband Alex, and their three daughters Sophia, Imogen and Maddison; niece and nephew Monica and Brian.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St Michaels Episcopal Church in Auburn on Saturday May 18 at 11 a.m. You may offer your condolences and share your memories of Cecil at http://www.thefortingroupauburn.com.
