CASCO — The Casco Village Church, United Church of Christ is hosting its May “Italian” Saturday Night Supper on, Saturday, May 25, from 4:30-6 p.m. This month’s dinner will feature Italian cuisine, a salad bar, and dessert. CASCO — The Casco Village Church, United Church of Christ, is hosting our annual Open-air Fair/Flea Market on Saturday, July 13, from 9-1 p.m. and we would love to have you join us. Historical Society

HEBRON — Hebron Historical Society welcomes Anne Morin, of Rumford, discussing her treasured copy of “The Life of Josiah Henson, Formerly a Slave, Now Resident of Canada, as Narrated by Himself”, written in 1849. Maine author Harriet Beecher Stowe used this story after talking with Henson, in part, as her model for “Uncle Tom” in her novel “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”. The presentation will be at the Hebron Town Office, 351 Paris Road, on Tuesday, May 28 at 7 p.m. The public is invited and refreshments will be served.

Coffee House

NORWAY — Join us for an intergenerational musical night at St. Catherine of Sienna Parish Hall, 32 Paris Street, Norway, on Friday, May 17 from 7-9 p.m.  Folk music provided by Tim Brophy and his guitar with an open mic for others who may want to share their voices. Free Coffee, tea, cold drinks, and light snacks will be provided. All are welcome.

Sale

PARIS — The Paris Public Library is holding a DVD and music CD sale on Saturday, May 25th, from 9 am to 2 pm at the Deering Memorial Community Center, located at 39 Main Street in Paris.

The sale will feature several thousand duplicate copies of DVDs donated to the library over the past dozen years and hundreds of donated CDs. Shoppers are asked to just make a donation for the items they select, with the proceeds going towards expanding the Paris Public Library’s video game collection. Festival

WEST PARIS — The First Universalist Church of West Paris will hold its annual Rhubarb Festival on Saturday, June 8, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church, 208 Main Street in W. Paris. The Rhubarb Festival is one of the church’s traditional events which features everything rhubarb, including homemade rhubarb and strawberry rhubarb pies, cakes, cookies, fresh rhubarb, and more, all prepared by church members and friends for this important annual fundraiser.

Pies are $15 each; other rhubarb treats will be individually priced. First come, first serve. There will also be a white elephant sale with some very good buys.
