Marcel E. Hebert

PORTLAND – Marcel E. Hebert, 83, died at Maine Medical Center May 13, 2024, surrounded by his family after suffering a stroke. He was born in Guerette, Maine, on Jan. 3, 1941, the son of Adelard and Yvonne Hebert. He worked for Steel Service for 30 years and co-owned Hebert’s Vegetable stand with his wife Rita. He loved gardening and spending time with his family.

He is survived by four daughters, Linda Tardif and her husband Mike of North Monmouth, Tina Day and her husband Wayne of Auburn, Lisa Marquis and her husband Mark of Lewiston and Brenda Nickerson of Bowdoinham, 10 grandchildren, Trista, Alyssa, Andrew, Brittnie, Jessica, Thomas, Courtney, Amanda, Ashley and Samantha, 15 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Roger Hebert and Reginald Hebert, nine sisters, Mildred Rioux, Albertine Poisson, Madeline Bowie, Evelyn Jean, Lucille Gilbert, Marcella Hebert, Bernadette Posnick, Janet Baron and Sandra Dumais and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Rita, the love of his life, his parents, Adelard and Yvonne Hebert, three brothers, Clifford Hebert, Robert Hebert, Ronald Hebert, four sisters, Verna Levesque, Cecile Levesque, Lorena Sedgeley and Odelie Lessard.

Visiting hours will be on May 20, from 5-7 p.m., at The Fortin Group Funeral Home, 217 Turner Street in Auburn.

His celebration of Life will be on May 21st at 11 a.m., followed by a committal at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
