Robert A. Pinard Sr.

SABATTUS – The memory of Robert A. Pinard Sr. of Sabattus, born in Lewiston on Feb. 2, 1941, who passed away on May 15, 2024, at the age of 83, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives.

He graduated from Sabattus High School and then took over and ran his grandfather’s plumbing and heating business, AF Paradis. Later he worked and retired from Bates College after 22 years as facilities manager.

Robert loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Up until a few years ago, he enjoyed retirement by seasonally spending time at his Florida home. He enjoyed working with his hands including gardening, and home improvement projects.

He was predeceased by his parents, Geraldine Pinard and Arthur W. Pinard; his daughter, Robbin Pelletier; and brother, William A. Pinard.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cheryl Pinard (Wardwell); his children Lauri Berry of St. Augustine, Fla. and husband Butch, Robert A. Pinard Jr. of Sabattus and wife Liana, Scott Pinard of Bowdoin and wife Jaime, son-in-law, Donald Pelletier; his sisters Jackie Gahagan of Lewiston, Connie Donoghue of Lewiston; his grandchildren, Heather Ouellette, Robert A. Pinard III, Christa Tanguay, Kenneth Pinard, Tucker Pelletier, Abby Pinard, Molly Pinard, step-grandchildren Christina D’Amico and Kaprice Montecalvo. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren Destiny, Kara-Mae, Nevaeh, Robert, Bentley, Cashton, Sophia, Henri-Mae, step-great-grandchild, Moxie.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 30 at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sabattus.
