Aline Lillian (Legere) Fournier
AUBURN – Aline Lillian (Legere) Fournier passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born Oct. 22, 1932, in Riley, Maine to Leon Legere and Laura (Nolette) Legere, the youngest of three daughters.
She attended the Jay school system and graduated with the class of 1951. Following high school, she worked at Norwalk Shoe in North Jay and Livermore Shoe in Livermore Falls before marrying Joseph Adrien “Drig” Fournier in 1955. They later divorced.
She devoted her time to raising her family. During this time, she was an active communicant at St Rose of Lima where she worked as a sacristan. She was also a former member of the Ladies of St. Anne, St. John Baptist, and the Blue Army. In 1985 she began working in home health caring for people at home. One of her greatest gifts was caring for people she loved and her church family. In her free time, Aline belonged to a bowling league for many years and played golf occasionally.
Aline also worked part-time for the Jay school system, worked for the Blood Bank, and gave blood regularly. She loved going on leaf peeping trips and visiting the ocean. Aline enjoyed visiting St. Anne de Beaupre in Quebec and once visited Rome with her sister, Doris. Aline loved her cats and liked to bake for her family. Her favorite saying was J’irai la voirun jour – “I’ll will go see her one day.”
Aline was predeceased by her parents and her sisters, Jacqueline Fournier and Doris Chenard. Aline leaves behind her four children, Bruce Fournier and husband Frank Horan of St Petersburg, Fla., Donald Fournier and wife Sharon of Readfield, David Fournier and wife Deborah of Stockton Springs, and Doreen Fournier and husband John Pertel of Bath; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Memere” was dearly loved by her family, and grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Saturday, May 25 at St. Rose of Lima Church, 1 Church Street, Jay, Maine. Visitation will be held Friday, May 24 from 4-7 p.m. at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Interment at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery, 445 Park Street, Livermore Falls, Maine.
