LEWISTON – Sharon L. Philbrook, 79, a resident of Auburn and formerly of Greene, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Russell Park Rehabilitation & Living Center. She was born Dec. 19, 1944, in Rumford, the daughter of Frank Farrar and Amy L. (Cheyr) Farrar. She graduated from Leavitt Institute in Turner, class of 1962. On April 15, 1967, she married Bruce Robert Philbrook in Norway. Bruce passed away on July 27, 1976.

Sharon was a medical unit secretary for St. Mary’s D’Youville Nursing Home in Lewiston until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, a son, Tony Philbrook and wife Rita of Deltona, Fla., two daughters, Pamela Syme of Wallingford, Conn. and Bethany Philbrook of Auburn; a sister, Pat Hunt and husband Jim of Rumford, five grandchildren, Rob, Jordan, Hailey, Maria and Josh; a great grandson, Kendrick; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Bruce R. Philbrook; her siblings, Francis Graham, Marion Cooper, Pauline Buckingham, and George Farrar.
