Workers with the city of Lewiston and The Cote Corporation stand back Wednesday as a 51mm Naval gun is lifted by a Cote crane at Veterans Memorial Park in Lewiston. Employees from Cote and the city worked together to make repairs after the park sustained heavy damage during a December 2023 flood. Cote provided the machinery and manpower at no cost to the L&A Veterans Council. Employees used a crane to lift an Army Jeep and the Naval gun so that the city could secure the ground that was washed away by the flood. The Naval gun and the base weighed 31,000 pounds.
