05/11/2024 0146hrs, Deputy Clement received a complaint of a hitchhiker who had traveled from Winslow to Eustis and had run out of cash. The person wanted a ride to the border, this was denied. The man’s father was contacted, who agreed to come pick him up. Deputy DiSilvestro received a second call on the same person at 0305hrs.
0002hrs, Deputy Wacome responded to a report of a disturbance call at the Farmington Motel in Farmington at the request of Farmington Police. As a result of the investigation Tyler Alkire (25) of North Anson was arrested for Violation of Conditions of Release and transported to jail.
0534hrs, Deputy Gray received a 911 call from a residence in Weld. This turned out to be an accidental dial by the homeowner.
0654hrs, Deputy DiSilvestro assisted with traffic control during the Sugarloaf Marathon.
0827hrs, Deputy Wacome received a 911 call at a residence on the Savage Road in Industry. This was an accidental dial.
0830hrs, Deputy Gray responded to the Phillips Road in Weld regarding a report of a suspicious person. A person was identified, no criminal activity.
0928hrs, Deputy Gray investigated what turned out to be a property line dispute on the Dixfield Road in Weld.
1501hrs, Deputy Gray investigated what turned out to be a landlord/tenant dispute on Main Street in Rangeley.
1832hrs, Sgt. Sholan received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle on the Dixfield Road in Weld.
1904hrs, Deputy Clement investigated a fraud complaint at a residence in Arnold Trail in Alder Stream Twp. The caller stated that they purchased a green dot card at a Dollar General Store and put 500 dollars on it. When they activated it the activation number was assigned to someone else. The company will not refund the money.
05/12/2024 0815hrs, Deputy DiSilvestro received a 911 call originating from the Sugarloaf Marathon area of West Kingfield Road. This was an accidental dial.
0920hrs, Deputy DiSilvestro investigated a trespass complaint at a residence on Chestnut Lane in Rangeley.
1538hrs, Deputy Elmes received a complaint of a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner on the Rangeley Road in Phillips. He was unable to intercept.
1740hrs, Sgt. Sholan received a complaint on the Weeks Mills Road in New Sharon regarding an elderly man who has dementia and is causing problems for his family.
1903hrs, Deputy Elmes responded to a car vs deer accident on Arnold Trail in Eustis. Joseph Paravati (70) of Rangeley was driving a 2005 Dodge Caravan when the collision occurred.
2010hrs, Sgt. Sholan responded to a car vs. deer accident on the Farmington Road in Strong. Brandon Stanwood (31) of Strong was driving a 2019 Jeep Cherokee when the collision occurred.
2018hrs, Sgt. Bean assisted Jail staff with an investigation within the jail.
2104hrs, Deputy Elmes received a request for a welfare check to be conducted at a residence on Oxford Street in Rangeley. The person to be checked was not actually in Franklin County but had been living out of their car and in the Androscoggin or Kennebec County area. The caller just wanted the residence checked out to see if the person was there.
05/13/2024 0840hrs, Deputy Morgan received a request to conduct a welfare check at a residence on the Valley Road in Chesterville. The person to be checked is elderly and thought they had dialed an electrician, but instead had dialed Jay Police. The caller seemed confused, so Jay Police requested a check. Morgan found the caller to be okay but reached out to the caller’s family to inform them of possible dementia issues.
1512hrs, Deputy Gray transported two elderly people to Maine General Hospital in Augusta.
1547hrs, Sgt. Sholan assisted Farmington Police with a disturbance call that originated in Farmington but one of the participants lived in Strong. No charges were filed by either party, family members arguing over texts sent to each other.
1707hrs, Det. Davol received a criminal mischief complaint that allegedly occurred in Rangeley to the complainant’s car. The complainant was now in Portland.
1721hrs, Det. Davol conducted a VIN# verification at a residence on School Street in Weld.
1840hrs, Sgt. Sholan received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle at the boat launch in New Sharon. The person there was fishing.
1918hrs, Det. Davol received a complaint of someone shooting off a cannon in the vicinity of Mountain View Camps in Rangeley. The source of the noise was not located.
05/14/2024 0456hrs, Deputy Couture responded to a car vs. deer accident on the Starks Road in New Sharon. Richard Eldridge (50) of New Sharon was driving a 2016 Ford Edge when the collision occurred.
0620hrs, Deputy Morgan conducted a traffic stop on School Street in Weld. As a result of the stop David Carrier (47) of Wilton was charged with Operating as a Habitual Offender.
0754hrs, Deputy Gray and Lt. Rackliffe participated in a “Coffee with a Cop” event at School House Variety in Weld.
1041hrs, Deputy Couture investigated a harassment complaint at a residence on West Side Road in Carthage.
1142hrs, Deputy Morgan participated in a “painting with the police” program at the Kingfield Elementary School.
1206hrs, Deputy Couture responded to a residential alarm on Church Street in New Vineyard. This was a false alarm.
1243hrs, Deputy Couture received a complaint regarding a possible online scam at a residence in Rangeley.
1406hrs, Deputy Couture responded to a single motorcycle accident on Norcross Hill Road in Chesterville. Chad Goodhart (34) of Chesterville was driving a 2012 Harley Davidson when he crashed trying to avoid striking a dog in the road.
1942hrs, Deputy Clement received a complaint of dogs running at large on the Salem Road in Salem Twp.
2104hrs, Deputy Wacome received a complaint of suspicious person on Route 4 in Avon by the School of Masonry.
2136hrs, Det. Richards investigated a complaint of a suspicious vehicle on the Phillips Road in Weld.
2341hrs, Deputy Clement received a 911 call on Bold Mountain Road in Rangeley. The source of this call was not located.
05/15/2024 1319hrs, Det. Davol conducted a school visit at Day Mountain Middle School in Strong.
1457hrs, Deputy Wacome conducted a forced inspection of a vehicle at a garage in New Sharon.
1548hrs, Det. Davol responded to a residential alarm on Old County Road in Dallas Plt. This was a false alarm.
1554hrs, Deputy Frost received a request for a welfare check to be conducted at a residence on Chandler Road in Industry. The person to be checked was located and found to be okay but displaying signs of dementia.
1557hrs, Deputy Clement assisted the Eustis ACO with serving a summons to an individual on School Street.
1630hrs, Deputy Clement, Deputy Wacome and Sgt. Sholan responded to a report of an overdose at a residence on the Rangeley Road in Phillips. Deputies administered a dose of Narcan which resulted in the patient breathing again.
1640hrs, Lt. David St. Laurent conducted security training at Franklin Savings Bank in Rangeley.
1648hrs, Deputy Couture, Sgt. Close and Det. Davol participated in the “Child Safety Night” program which was conducted at Rangeley High School.
1657hrs, Deputy Frost investigated an alleged harassment complaint between neighbors. No crime was identified.
1811hrs, Deputy Clement received a complaint of a person walking in the road carrying a sign on main street in Kingfield. The person was located and not violating any laws.
1910hrs, Sgt. Sholan received a request for a welfare check to be conducted on Whispering Ridge Parkway in Eustis. The person to be checked was located and found to be okay.
05/16/2024 0824hrs, Det. Richards received a harassment complaint that originated in Rangeley.
0917hrs, Deputy DiSilvestro received a request for a welfare check to be conducted at a residence on Taylor Hill Road in Strong. The person to be checked was located and found to be okay.
0945hrs, Det. Richards, Det. Davol and Lt. St. Laurent responded to a camp located off Indian Stream Road regarding a report of a man who had suffered from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The man was transported to FMH in critical condition.
1052hrs, Deputy DiSilvestro investigated a report of a camper allegedly broken into at a location off Route 2 in Carthage.
1330hrs, Deputy Couture investigated a disturbance complaint near Sandy River Farm Supply in New Sharon.
1430hrs, Chief Deputy Lowell wrangled a loose Billy Goat in the middle of the Rangeley Road in Avon and placed it back into a pen in which it is believed to have escaped from. The owners were not home.
1637hrs, Deputy Wacome received a 911 call at a residence on Zion’s Hill Road in Chesterville. This was an accidental dial.
1638hrs, Deputy Frost and Sgt. Close responded to a Mental Health Emergency call at a residence in Rangeley Plt. where a person there with mental health issues was having an episode where they thought they were being attacked and fired a firearm inside of the residence. Deputies arrived, secured the firearms as well as the person, and transported the person to FMH to be admitted, the “Yellow Flag protocol” was enacted.
1703hrs, Deputy Wacome investigated a vandalism complaint at a residence on School Street in Weld where a barn window had been shot with BB gun.
05/17/2024 0918hrs, Deputy Clement conducted a security escort at a residence on Carry Road in Rangeley.
1206hrs, Deputy Couture conducted a security escort at a residence on Taylor Hill Road in Strong.
1324hrs, Deputy Couture received a 911 call at a residence on Mapel Street in Kingfield. This was an accidental dial.
1325hrs, Deputy Couture responded to a report of a two-car accident on Main Street in Kingfield near Anni’s Market. Connor Dailey (21) of New Vineyard was driving a 2018 Ford pickup northbound when he struck a legally parked 2015 Ford Escape. Dailey stated another southbound vehicle forced him off the road.
1413hrs, Det. Davol conducted a school visit at Day Mountain Middle School in Strong.
1455hrs, Deputy Couture received a request to conduct a welfare check at a residence on Old Dead River Road in Eustis. Before he could make contact, the complainant located the person.
1526hrs, Deputy Couture received a 911 call at a restaurant on Main Street in Kingfield. This was an accidental dial.
1613hrs, Deputy Clement investigated a trespassing complaint on Minister Hill Road in Kingfield.
1813hrs, Sgt. Sholan received a request for a welfare check to be conducted at a residence in New Sharon. Three juvenile girls had called the suicide hotline saying they were going to kill themselves. Investigation revealed that they were not suicidal but had called for no reason. None of the girls lived in New Sharon.
2018hrs, Deputy Clement responded to a report of a suspicious person at a residence on Serenity Lodge Road in Eustis. He was unable to locate the person.
2050hrs, Deputy Wacome investigated a theft of chain saws at a residence on the Swan Road in New Sharon.
2317hrs, Deputy Clement investigated a suspicious vehicle parked at the Dollar General Store in Kingfield. The occupants were identified and told to move on.
Deputies also conducted 5 elder checks, 39 building checks and responded to 6 false 911 calls.
