Helen Julia Stewart Millett

TURNER – Helen Julia Stewart Millett passed away peacefully at home on May 17, 2024, surrounded by her family. Helen was born in Colebrook, N.H., to Bernice (Nye) and Bernie Stewart on July 12, 1933.

Helen was raised by Bernie and Phyllis Stewart in Auburn, graduating from Edward Little.

Helen met her husband, Roger, at Keoka Lake Camp in Waterford. They were married for 65 years, raising four children.

As a member of the Turner Village Church, Helen enjoyed sharing her faith by teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.

Helen loved her family and was often found in her kitchen cooking. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, bird watching, bell collecting and always loving the beautiful view and sunsets from her kitchen windows. She was always available to her family, giving rides to her grandchildren as needed. Helen enjoyed long rides with Roger. One never knew where they were off to, often attending fairs, dining at the Taste of Maine and baked bean suppers. Helen was always ready to join family day trips or vacations.

She was known for hugging family and friends by sending greeting cards for any and all occasions.

Helen will be greatly missed by her family and community.

Survived by sister, Linda Jordan; daughters Diane Dunn (John), Terry Vickerson (Charlie), Julie Hausman (Randy), of Turner; grandchildren, Chris Millett (Tarah), Erin Dunn-Kimball (Bill), Anthony Fusillo, Jessica Vickerson, Kyle Hausman (Miranda), Justin Hausman (Fernanda), Ryan Hausman (Cassandra); six great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her parents Bernie Stewart and Bernice Stewart, her stepmother, Phyllis Stewart, her parents-in-love, Bertram and Elva Millett; husband, Roger Millett; son, Ronald Millett; granddaughter, Allyson Beth Dunn; sister and brother-in-law, Leatrice and Edwin Record; and nephew, Douglas Record.

The family gives heartfelt thanks to Helen’s Caregiver Team for the care and friendship you gave to her every day.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, July 12, at 1 p.m., at Turner Village Cemetery situated at 113 Main St., Turner, ME 04282.
