Jared Bernard
CANTON – Jared Bernard, 22, died Monday May 27, 2024, in Canton, as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident. He lived on the Auburn Road in Peru.
Jared was born in Rumford on Dec. 14, 2001, and was the son of Daniel and Colleen (Donahue) Bernard. He attended Dirigo and MEVA schools and worked as a night stocker at Hannaford. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking and hanging out with his friends. Gardening was one of his favorite passions. Jared had a serious green thumb, and many enjoyed the fruits of his labor.
Jared was always up for an adventure, whether it was in the woods fishing with a friend, camping at his favorite spots, or driving wherever the road took him, he could always make it fun. He was sweet, kind, funny and made friends everywhere he went. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for the ones he loved. He loved big and felt deep.
Jared is survived by his parents Daniel and Colleen (Donahue) Bernard of Peru; his beloved dog Stormy; paternal grandfather Richard Parker and partner Erica Miller; aunts and uncles, Richard and Denise Donahue, Elizabeth (Donahue) and David Gallant, Shane Child and Kim Gallant; cousins, Nicole Donahue Merrill, Richard Donahue, Neil Priest, Travis Robbins, Nicholas Gallant, Casey Child, Olivia Child and Kollin Grassette. Lastly, all the friends he loved so deeply, and who loved him as well. Being an only child these dear friends were like siblings to him.
Jared was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Howard and Carrie Child; paternal grandparents Rejane and Roger Bernard: uncle; Gordon Donahue.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday June 8, 2024 at the Meader & Son Funeral Home 3 Franklin St Rumford. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday June 7, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. A private burial will be set at a later date.
