Mary M. Dube

LEWISTON – Mary M. Dube, 88, of Lewiston, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at CMMC. Her daughter was by her side as she peacefully left this world. Mary was born May 9, 1936, to Gerard and Lena Blais in Rumford.

She is survived by her daughter, Terri Dube and partner Chris, brothers, Roland Blais, Norman Blais, many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends, Emma and Ray Fortier. She was predeceased by her brother, Gerard Blais, nephew Steve Blais, great nephew Brandon Young, sister-in-law Louise Blais and longtime friend Jeanne Lessard.

Mary worked at Bates Mill and took pride in being a small part of making the world famous “Bates Bedspreads”. She loved adventure, travel, gardening, flowers and building wooden crafts. Her favorite pastimes were playing cards with family and friends and beating her daughter at Scrabble, which she did most of the time. She loved being and being alive and tried not to waste a moment of it. God has called upon a little feisty one and we will miss her tremendously.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 7, at 11 a.m., at Gracelawn Memorial Chapel, 980 Turner St., Auburn, Maine.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mary’s memory to:
