BETHEL — Stephanie Colby of Greenwood has replaced longtime former finance officer Amy Hanscom, who resigned in March. Colby started June 3.

She  will be responsible for all the financials and payables and assisting with payroll from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Emma Davis, of Bethel, will assist Colby as the new finance assistant. They report to Town Manager Sharon Jackson.

Colby had been an accounting paraprofessional for 15 years working for Certified Public Assistant Kelly Newkirk, of Bethel. Colby did payroll, bookkeeping and processed tax returns.  Prior to that she worked for 13 years at Northeast Bank in Bethel as a receptionist, teller and finally a teller supervisor

“I’m excited to learn about municipality,” said Colby, who added, “I think the job will be challenging but rewarding at the same time.”

Colby’s husband Brian works at Western Maine Supply, her son Austin Westleigh owns Countryside Landscaping and Keagan, 12, is at Telstar Middle School.
