Bernard Joseph Boivin
BANGOR – Bernard Joseph Boivin, 84, of Jay, died early Tuesday morning, June 4, 2024.
He was born in Jay, March 20, 1940, a son of Joseph and Alma (Bibeau) Boivin. He received his education in local schools, graduating from Jay High School in 1958. On July 2, 1960, he married Phyllis M. Henry at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay.
Mr. Boivin worked at a local shoe shop, was an employee of International Paper, and for a time served as City Councilor for the Town of Jay. He enjoyed riding his bike and working on crafts, specifically woodworking.
Bernard is survived by his children, Deb Jewett of Jay, David Boivin of South Portland, and Daniel Boivin of Phillips; six grandchildren, Aaron Jewett of New Vineyard, Amanda Luciano of Livermore, Sean Boivin of Rome, Adrienna Boivin, Emma Boivin, and Ellodie Boivin, all of South Portland; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Phyllis.
