Jeannine A. Perron
POLAND – Jeannine A. Perron, 88, of Poland, passed away peacefully on Monday June 24, 2024, with loving family by her side.
Jeannine was born in Lewiston on June 29, 1935, to Irenee and Alice Lavallee Vachon, one of eight children, four boys and four girls. She lived most of her life in Lewiston. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1953. While working at St. Mary’s General Hospital, she met Normand A. Perron who was a baker and cook in the hospital’s kitchen and food services department. They married on June 27, 1953 and together raised four children. They were married for more than 66 years until Normand’s passing in 2020.
As wife and mother, Jeannine’s priority was the well-being of the family – good health, faith, and education. Keeping in touch with extended family and friends was also very important. Sunday afternoons were usually reserved for family visits, especially in the early years of the growing family. In addition to caring for home and family, Jeannine found the time and energy to work several jobs throughout her life to contribute financial resources for the family’s well-being. She was a faithful member of Holy Family Church and devoted to the Catholic faith by attendance of weekly Mass and daily recitation of the Holy Rosary. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were blessed to have her and her devotion to their families in their lives.
She is survived by her four children, Maurice Perron and wife Shirley of Poland, Gerard Perron and wife Teen of Acton, Mass., Susan McDonough and husband Mark of Lyman, and Ann Marie Gagnon and husband Raymond of Lewiston; eight grandchildren – Alana Wurtz (husband Chris), Jacob Perron (wife Kandace, Eric Perron (wife Bri), Laura Perron, Adam (AJ) Perron (wife Megan), Joelle Perron, Craig McDonough (wife Jackie), Jillian Hart (husband Dan); nine great-grandchildren – Liana and Jenna Wurtz; Evelyn, Kolton, and Quinn Perron; Jameson and Morgan Hart; Wesley and James Perron. She is also survived by two sisters – Pauline Morin of Greene and Helen Reynolds of Virginia – and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her four brothers – Irenee Jr., Lucien, Robert, and Roland Vachon – her sister Gilberte Pinette – and lifelong best friend Yvonne Bisson.
Jeannine was very loved and will be missed by the many that were blessed enough to have known and loved her during her lifetime.
Family and friends are warmly invited to a Visitation on July 8, 2024, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., at Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home, 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Lewiston. This will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., at Holy Family Church, 607 Sabattus Street, Lewiston, and committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 31 Deer Road, Lewiston. A celebration of life will take place after the burial at the Excelsior Grange, 446 Harris Hill Road, Poland, ME 04274.
