SABATTUS – Romeo N. Jordan of Sabattus, formerly of Marlborough, Conn., passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on Aug. 29, 1935, in Greene. Romeo was the son of Herbert Ray and Diana V. (Brule) Jordan.

Romeo married his wife Lillian Polland on Aug. 7, 1953. They were married 63 years until her death in 2017. Together they raised six children, Sandra, Brenda, Linda, David, Kathy, and Gary.

Romeo moved to Connecticut in 1956 where he was employed by Burroughs Corp for 39 years.

Romeo’s love for life extended beyond just work. He was a life member of the Marlborough Volunteer Fire Department, where he rose though the ranks to become chief of the department. Romeo was also a member of the Sphinx Shriners Motor Patrol.

Throughout life he loved camping with family and friends. After retiring Romeo returned to Sabattus, where he enjoyed his daily luncheons with all his friends.

Romeo will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by his children Brenda (Bill) Bagshaw of East Hartford, Conn., Linda Billiel of Colchester, Conn, David (Jean) Jordan of Lake Placid, Fla., Kathy Caldwell of Buckfield, and Gary Jordan of South Paris, 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, his brothers Roger Jordan of Port Richey, Fla., and Armand Jordan of Oxford, and many extended family members and friends.

Romeo was predeceased by his daughter Sandra Rankl, three brothers, Artie, Ralph and Larry, and three sisters, Diana, Isabelle, and Shirley.

There will be no services at this time. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
