Gregory E. Lake
LIVERMORE FALLS – Gregory E. Lake, 64, a resident of Livermore Falls, succumbed to a medical event, Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at his home. He was born Dec. 10, 1959, in Farmington, the son of Elmer Lake and Louise (Paradis) Lake. He married the love of his life, Joy Richards on June 27, 1980, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. Greg was a 1978 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. He was employed by the Otis Mill in Jay where he was a Beater Room Engineer.
Greg enjoyed the simple things in life. If Greg wasn’t mowing his lawns, you could find him relaxing on the boat at Long Pond or camping at HayStack Ridge with family and friends. Another favorite pastime of his was heckling his daughters-in-law and he was famously known for finding and backing into the perfect parking spot, checking two or three times just to be sure it was perfect.
But above all, Greg was such a family man. Nothing meant more to him than being a bumpa. They were truly his life. He carried on the tradition of a “pinch kiss” with each grandchild.
He is survived by his wife Joy of Livermore Falls, his mother Louise Lake of Fayette, two sons, Brady Lake (Nicole), and Ethan Lake (Caitlin) all of Livermore, grandchildren Kolby Michael Cotton, Harper Rae Lake, and Murphy Gregory Lake, two sisters, Lorinda Sargent of Colchester, Vermont, and Benita Berry of Fayette, three Brothers, Reggie Lake (Anna) of Jay, Rodney Lake (Laurie) of Livermore Falls; and Jeff Lake (Beth) of Naples. He was predeceased by his father
At Greg’s request, there will be no services. The family is requesting time to grieve privately. A private burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Area Youth Sports, PO Box 363, Jay, Maine 04239 in honor of Gregs enjoyment of watching his grandchildren play sports.
