Raymond C. Nault
HARPSWELL – Master Sgt. Raymond C. Nault, 87, of Harpswell, died unexpectedly at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston on June 22, 2024, after spending a joyous evening with family.
He was born in Lewiston on April 10, 1937 to Roger and Jeannette Ducasse Nault. Educated in local schools, he graduated from St. Dominic’s High School, class of ‘56.
From 1954 to 1961, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. In 1974 he enlisted in the U.S. Army, and served until 1988, retiring as a Master Sgt. During that time, he served as a recruiter and earned the honor of top recruiter for three years. During his tour in Germany, 1979 – 1980, he served as First Sgt. He received several military honors, including The Minute Man Award. In his younger years, he was a mechanic employed by his father at Nault’s Esso Station, Roger’s Service Center, and Midas Muffler.
After retirement from the military, he relocated to Florida and worked at Boston Whaler, Inc. as a supervisor, returning to Maine in 2022.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Council 106 for many years and reached the level of Fourth Degree.
He leaves behind his wife of 41 years, the former Carolyn Stasulis; daughter, Debra Detzel and husband Jerry, a son, Rick, stepchildren Catherine Finn and husband Clark Ketcham and Stephen Dumond; brother-in-law, Kory Fairbrother; and son-in-law, Pete Fournier; six grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers Roger and Conrad, his sister, Jo-Ann; his daughter, Brenda Fournier; and great-grandson, Jackson Fournier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 13 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, with committal and full military honors at Mt. Hope Cemetery immediately after.
