Judith G. Arris

LEWISTON – Judith G. Arris, 86, of Mechanic Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2024, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, surrounded by family.

Judith was born in Albany, Maine, on Nov. 6, 1937, to the late Ernest and Hattie Paine. She graduated from Norway High School, raised two girls and later pursued a career as store clerk at MacHardy Pharmacy later known as McFalls Pharmacy until her retirement.

In July 1959, Judy married Roger N. Arris, and together they shared a life until Roger’s passing in August 2014.

Judy was an active member of her community. She dedicated her time and efforts to the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Post #150 for 45 years, holding every role from president to treasurer.

Judy enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, bingo, watching her bird feeder, frequenting the Oxford Casino and indulging in a hot big mac whenever she got the chance. As Judy grew up, she enjoyed camping, fishing at Bog Brook, and visiting York Beach. Her greatest joy in life was being with her family. Whether they were sharing ice cream, golfing at Tabers, watching her grandchildren’s sports games, or sharing old stories, Judy cherished every moment.

Judy will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Rhonda Huskins and husband David and Robin Arris; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Bryant and wife Kandy, Troy Bryant and wife Tenisha, Shannon Lessard and husband Randy, Mallory Huskins, Chad Bryant and wife April, Mariah Matson and husband Jakob, Katelyn Bertrand and husband Everett; great-grandchildren, Trent Lessard, Adelyn Bryant, Colton Bryant, Bentley Hoover, Alyvia Bryant, Taylor Bryant, Ashtyn Bryant, and Everett (Rett) Bertrand; and her sisters-in-law, Marian Paine and Nancy Burns.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Hattie Paine; her husband, Roger Arris; her daughter, Roberta Arris; and her siblings, Rita, Pauline, Reginald, Doris, Erna, Rama, Robert, Barbara, Frank, Betty, Lawrence, Beverly, David, and Don.

Judy once shared, “My family is the most important thing in my life. They are my world. They’ve always come first.” These words will always ring true. Her warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of many. Judy will leave a legacy of love and cherished memories to all.

A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Post #150 in Mechanic Falls on Sunday, July 21, from 1-5 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 26 W. Dwinal St., Mechanic Falls. Online condolences may be shared with her family at http://www.chandlerfunerals.com.
