Roland J. Madore

MONMOUTH – Roland J. Madore, 83, a longtime resident of North Monmouth, passed away July 6, 2024, at home with family by his side following an illness.

He was born in Frenchville on July 17, 1940, the twelfth of 15 kids, born to Leonard and Alice Madore.

He married Gaetanne Clavette on May 4, 1963, in Lewiston, and they raised four children together.

He was a hard worker who enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, fishing, and eating lobster and clams.

He was predeceased by his parents; six sisters, Ida Dumont, Irene Frasier, Geraldine Russell, Theresa Dennis, and infants Edwina and Wellena, and three brothers, Edwin Madore, Reynold Madore and Nelson Madore.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gaetanne Madore; three daughters, Shirley Beaudoin and husband John, Patsy Ayotte, Tina Desrosiers and husband Guildor, a son, John Madore; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Winnie Theriault and Joan Godbout, three brothers, Valier Madore, Elmer and wife Anita Madore, and Junior Madore; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a graveside service at a future date, followed by a celebration of life gathering at niece Rachel Doucette’s home in Lewiston.
