I would like to add my name to the issue of traffic in our community.
I agree that it’s a real problem. Speed limits are ignored and traffic lights and signs appear to only be a suggestion. I don’t, however, agree that police are not doing their job.
I see police out on the streets patrolling their assigned areas and responding to a variety of calls during their shift. However, they cannot be everywhere at once, but I do believe they could use a hand when it comes to traffic control.
My suggestion is that the governor provide money from the budget surplus to build speed bumps for residential streets with speed limits of 25 mph and every marked crosswalk in our community. This approach would have an immediate and positive result to slow down traffic and keep our community safe for both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
