The Lynn Deeves Trio will perform at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, at the gazebo at Poland Spring Resort, 640 Main St., in Poland Spring.
A Maine singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Lynn Deeves honed her stage and vocal skills on the New England rock club circuit of the 1980’s and 90’s. “The Muse” called in 1996 and Deeves has since released four independent solo CDs. She has also collaborated on a fifth CD with Maine songwriting trio “Under the Song Tree,” along with other Maine performers Anni Clark and Dan Merrill.
With a rich, powerful voice, Trina Hamlin reveals a rare confluence of mid-western innocence, contemplative focus, and raw passion while adding a disarmingly sharp wit. She seamlessly moves from guitar to piano to self-accompaniment on harmonica. Hamlin has toured throughout the U.S. and Europe. She earned a degree in professional music from Berkley College in Boston and has since written and co-produced five solo albums.
Coleen Sexton migrated to New England from Syracuse, New York, to attend law school, But instead she quickly discovered the fertile Boston singer-songwriter scene. She stayed in law school only two days, later touring the eastern U.S. and Canada. Equal parts sincerity and strength, Sexton has established herself as a respected artist and performer. Critics have described her performance as “smoldering, sincere, and captivating” and her songs “intelligent” and “passionate.”
If the weather is inclement, the concert will be held in the dining room at the Maine Inn. There are chairs available, but feel free to bring your own or a blanket. Poland Spring Bottling Company will be providing complimentary water and hamburgers, hot dogs and other sandwiches will be available for sale.
The price for admission is $5.
