Louise Pierrette Sasseville-Maheux

LEWISTON – Louise Pierrette Sasseville-Maheux, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on July 11, 2024 in Lewiston, Maine. She was born on September 7, 1943 to the late Sarto and Nellie Sasseville.

Louise lived a deeply fulfilling life with her devoted and caring husband, Richard Maheux; her children, Josh, Darcy, Corey, Seth, Tara; her grandchildren, Elle, Mahalia, Pierre, Benjamin, Samuel, Aubrey, Shea, Liam, Graham, Reid, Julianne; and her great-granddaughter, Lux Clementine.

In 1986, Louise earned her master’s degree in social work from Boston University as giving back was a cornerstone of her life. Her contributions included working at Catholic Charities and teaching CCE (where she met her sweetheart).

A woman of many talents, Louise created and gifted gorgeous knitwear, stunning stained-glass art, and beautifully sewn treasures to family and friends, sure to be handed down for generations.

Louise loved taking long car rides with Richard, being at their camp next to Mount Katahdin, drinking Coca-Cola, talking on the phone for hours, and enjoying games like cribbage and Nintendo.

While the loss of Louise has left a deep space in our hearts, it is comforting to know she has been reunited with her dear daughter, Darcy.

A funeral service will be held at Saints Peter & Paul Basilica in Lewiston on Tuesday, September 10, at 11 a.m.

In honor of her, please consider making a donation to your favorite local charity.
